‘Tercio’ is the third release in Land & Sea’s annual Milestone Series, A collection of lures designed to mark the passage of time with craftsmanship and meaning. Its name carries a deliberate double entendre: in the world of cigars, a tercio is a traditional bundle where hand-selected tobacco leaves are wrapped in palm bark and left to rest, deepening their flavour and character. In Spanish, tercio also translates directly to “third,” an elegant nod to Land & Sea’s third birthday.

Much like the cigar tradition it draws from, this lure was crafted to embody patience, refinement, and depth. Its body is a deep espresso brown, charred by flame and sanded back to reveal a grain as rich as aged tobacco, accented with ember undertones and a golden band reminiscent of a fine cigar’s wrap.

In the water, Tercio swims with effortless grace. Rolling and gliding like smoke drifting through lamplight. It doesn’t clamour for attention; it commands it. Fish are drawn to its subtle shimmer and movement the way discerning patrons are drawn to the quiet ritual of a cigar club.
