Tackle Storage

Tackle storage that keeps your gear organised, protected and ready to fish, from hard tackle cases and soft tackle bags to lure wraps, rod tubes and reel covers. Our range is led by Shimano, alongside Plano, Daiwa, Black Magic and Rapala.

Organise lures and terminal tackle by type and size, so you spend less time searching and more time fishing. Keep hooks and sinkers in compartment boxes, protect your reels with covers from our rod and reel protection range, and carry it all in a tackle bag.

Frequently asked questions about tackle storage

Hard tackle box or soft tackle bag - which is better?

Hard tackle boxes protect lures and tackle from being crushed and keep everything visible in compartments, which suits boat fishing and lure collections. Soft tackle bags are lighter and easier to carry, often holding several clear utility boxes plus pockets for tools, which suits shore fishing, kayaks and walking to fishing spots. Many anglers use a soft bag with removable boxes inside.

How should I organise my lures and tackle?

Group tackle by type and size: one box for hooks and swivels, another for sinkers, and separate boxes for soft baits, jigs and hard lures. Label boxes so you can grab what you need for the day. Keep only what you will use in your main bag, and store the rest at home. A well-organised kit saves time on the water and means you notice when you are running low.

What is a lure wrap used for?

A lure wrap is a padded fabric pouch with individual sleeves that roll up to hold large lures such as topwater stickbaits, knife jigs and game lures. It protects the lures' finish and keeps sharp hooks covered and separated, so they do not tangle or snag on your other gear. Lure wraps are especially useful for game lures and big topwater lures on the boat.

How do I keep tackle dry and rust-free in storage?

Rinse used tackle with fresh water and let it dry completely before putting it back. Use boxes with good seals, and add a moisture-absorbing sachet or a rust-inhibiting insert to each box. Store boxes in a cool, dry place rather than a damp shed or boat. Keep new and used tackle separate so one rusty hook does not spread corrosion through the whole box.

What tackle storage works best on a kayak?

On a kayak, compact storage is key. Small waterproof boxes that fit in a crate or hatch, a few lure wraps, and a soft bag or crate with rod holders keep things organised and within reach. Choose boxes that close securely so they do not spill if you tip over, and use leashes or tethers for anything you cannot afford to lose overboard. Keep the deck clear of loose gear.

How should I store fishing rods at home?

Store rods upright in a rod rack or hang them horizontally on supports, rather than leaning them in a corner where tips can bend or break. Keep them out of direct sun and away from heat. Rod socks or sleeves protect the guides and finish, and rod tubes are the safest option for transporting rods. Remove reels or back the drag off if rods are stored for long periods.
