Product Description
Pop. Dive. Hold.
The Malosi Talo 180P is a high-confidence diving popper built to punch into wind, bite hard and track true when you lean on it. A deep cup and keeled chin grab water and drive the lure under, laying a dense bubble trail before it climbs and resets. Burn it to call fish up or pop–pause along reef faces. Talo digs, roars, and then hangs in the window where big fish make bad decisions. Ships unrigged so you can tune hang time and rise with your hook choice.
- Dive-pop architecture: deep cup + keeled chin grab water to dig under and hold the lane.
- Stays in the bite: body volume + balance slow the rise so the lure hangs post-pop.
- Weight-forward cast core: rockets long with minimal tumble in cross-wind.
- Versatile cadence: loud pop–pause over edges, chug–chug–kill across pins, speed-burn over bait balls.
- Hardware-tuneable: trebles for stickiness, singles for jaw-corner pins and kelp clearance.
Tip: start the first pop past the pressure edge so Talo dives onto the face, most eats happen as it rises into the pause.
Pop ? Dive ? Bubble trail ? Rise & Reset. With a light pop and a long, gentle sweep of the rod, the Talo dives beneath the surface, creating a dense bubble trail and a tight, wobbling swim action. Pause and wait for it to pop back up, then sweep again in rhythm to keep this popper moving effectively.
Balance hang-time vs pull-through. Heavier hardware increases dive depth and slows the rise; lighter sets keep the lure higher and snappier.

Best retrieve for Talo 180P?
Cast long, point the rod at the lure and sweep firmly to dive it, then pause to let it rise and reset. Repeat as pop–pause–pop. In rough water, lengthen the sweep and shorten the pause.
How do I keep it tracking straight?
Use a loop knot and keep the rod in line with the lure on the sweep. If it leans, check for fouled split rings and balance hardware (singles often stabilise in cross-chop).
Ideal tackle?
PE 3–5 popping spin with a moderate tip and a shock-absorbing leader. A smooth drag helps keep big hooks pinned on surging fish.
