THE REEL - Daiwa Saltist MQ 10000H
The legendary Saltist has been redesigned from the ground up, combining Monocoque Body (MQ) technology with the mid-market performance and reliability that has previously set the standard for saltwater spinning reels. Central to this is Monocoque (MQ); a single-piece body structure machined from high-strength aluminium that enables the use of larger internal gearing components and improves weather sealing. When combined with Magsealed technology, the Saltist MQ exhibits exceptional resistance to the ingress of dust, water, and salt. The carbon ATD drag system has been improved, achieving increased drag capacity and smooth consistent drag pressures. The Saltist MQ delivers a drag performance unmatched by the competition. Casting performance has also been improved with a long-cast ABS spool design. LC-ABS improves line flow from the spool, resulting in increased casting distances.
ABS LONGCAST
Compared to conventional spools, the LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape.
ATD DRAG
Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start-up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook-up.
MONOCOQUE (MQ)
A one-piece frame eliminates the use of traditional two-piece body & side plate construction. A single-piece body utilises a screw-in engine plate to house the main gear, reducing flex and twist under load creating a sealed mechanism. The elimination of the side plate has also allowed for a more compact body design. MQ technology not only makes reels stronger & better sealed but also more compact.
AIR ROTOR
Lighter, stronger and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed-out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance.

THE ROD - Daiwa TD Saltwater 2pc PE 5 Topwater Rod
Team Daiwa makes its debut into heavy-tackle saltwater rods with TD Saltwater. A newly developed series to accommodate the demand for high-quality and affordable saltwater rods. The heart of TD Saltwater begins with Daiwa’s BRAIDING-X graphite technology, a graphite tape that is applied to the butt section of the blank. Wrapping in this style adds a level of stiffness and rigidity to the overall blank construction without the added weight and diameter of a whole extra layer of the HSD graphite cloth. BRAIDING-X is used for the bottom half of the blank’s construction, delivering improved lifting power and ultimately higher strength.
TD Saltwater’s actions are tried and tested around the country, featuring jigging and boat-fishing specific models, several actions for fishing lures and soft plastics on reefs chasing snapper and pelagic species, and new actions specially designed for the growth in TaiRubber fishing, using lures like Daiwa's KOHGA to chase Snapper and other bottom-dwelling reef species. Outfitting TD Saltwater is Fuji’s Corrosion Control (BC) ‘O’ ring guides. When it comes to durable and affordable guide solutions, Fuji’s O ring leaves all others behind. Slimline EVA two-tone grips make TD Saltwater stand out from the crowd and are a class act paired with almost any large-size spinning reel.
