About Ledlenser
Ledlenser was founded in Germany in the 1990s, in Solingen, a city famous for precision manufacturing, with the aim of making LED torches brighter and more useful. Its big breakthrough was focusable optics: a lens and reflector system that lets you switch from a wide, even flood of light to a long, tight spot beam, often with a simple twist or slide. That idea runs through the range today.
Ledlenser lights are used by trampers, hunters, trail runners, tradespeople and emergency services, and they are built to be tough, waterproof and simple to operate, even with cold or gloved hands.
Headlamps for every job
The H Core series is the backbone of the headlamp range. The H5R and H7R are rechargeable all-rounders for tramping and camping, the H15R steps up the power for hunting and night navigation, and the H19R is the most powerful in the series, with the H19R Signature as the premium version. The MH3, MH5 and MH8 are lighter outdoor headlamps for campers and trampers who want simple controls and good battery life.
Runners can choose the NEO headlamps, such as the NEO1R, NEO5R and NEO9R, which are light and stable on the move. For children, the Kidled4R is a rechargeable kids headlamp with fun designs, safe brightness levels and a simple button.
Torches, lanterns and power
Ledlenser P series torches, such as the P4R, P5 and P6, are handheld torches with focusable beams for the car, the boat, the shed and the campsite. The ML4 Warm Light and ML6 Connect lanterns light up a tent or table with a softer glow, and the Flex1, Flex3 and Flex5 powerbanks keep your phone and lights charged away from mains power.
At Land & Sea we stock a wide range of Ledlenser lighting, and our team can help you choose the right brightness, battery and beam for your trip. Rechargeable models save money on batteries over time and are easy to top up from a powerbank or car charger.
Frequently asked questions about Ledlenser
What is Ledlenser Advanced Focus System?
Ledlenser's focusable optics combine a lens and reflector so you can adjust the beam from a wide, even flood of light for close-up tasks to a long, narrow spot beam for seeing far ahead. On many models you change the focus with a twist of the head, a slide or a dial. It means one light can do the work of two, lighting up your campsite one minute and picking out a track marker in the distance the next.
Which Ledlenser headlamp is best for tramping?
For most tramping, a rechargeable mid-range headlamp such as the Ledlenser H5R or H7R gives plenty of light for walking tracks at night, with a focusable beam and good battery life. If you hunt or navigate off-track at night, the more powerful H15R or H19R gives a longer beam. For lighter weight, look at the MH series. Carry a powerbank on multi-day trips to keep it charged.
Is the Ledlenser Kidled4R safe for children?
The Ledlenser Kidled4R is designed specifically for kids, with brightness levels suited to children, a comfortable strap, a simple button and fun designs such as dinosaurs and rainbows. It is rechargeable, so you are not handing children loose batteries. As with any light, teach children not to shine it directly into anyone's eyes, and supervise younger kids while they get used to it around camp.
What is the difference between Ledlenser H and MH headlamps?
The Ledlenser H series, such as the H5R, H7R, H15R and H19R Core, are versatile, powerful headlamps with focusable beams, suited to everything from tramping to hunting and work. The MH series, such as the MH3, MH5 and MH8, are outdoor headlamps designed for simplicity and lighter weight, with easy controls and good battery life. Choose the H series for maximum power and the MH series for light, simple use.
Are Ledlenser headlamps good for trail running?
Yes. Ledlenser's NEO headlamps, including the NEO1R, NEO5R and NEO9R, are designed for running, with a light, stable fit that does not bounce, and rechargeable batteries. The higher output models light up technical trails at speed, while lighter models suit road running and early mornings. Reflective details help you be seen by traffic. Choose by how dark and technical your usual routes are.
What is a Ledlenser Flex powerbank used for?
Ledlenser Flex powerbanks, such as the Flex1, Flex3 and Flex5, are portable battery packs for charging headlamps, torches, phones and other USB devices when you are away from mains power. Smaller models fit in a pocket for a day trip, while larger capacity models suit multi-day tramps and camping trips. Charge the powerbank fully before you leave, and keep it warm in cold weather to protect battery life.
