Getting your mat ready for the night is easy too, with the integrated Airstream pumpsack and a high-airflow XPRESS valve making inflation, adjustment and deflation effortless, so you can mouth-inflate in 20-plus breaths or use the pumpsack to cut that down to just three or four.

ThermalCore technology provides a greater level of insulation than prior models while keeping weight and packed volume low, and increased weld strength adds greater durability, so you can pop an Ether Light XR in your pack and head into the backcountry knowing your sleep comfort is one less thing to worry about.

Can I leave the stuff sack or pumpsack at home? Will mouth inflating the mat damage it?

You can mouth-inflate our Air Sprung Cell pads. Inflating an Ether Light will take 20-plus breaths, depending on lung capacity, whereas using the integrated pumpsack reduces this to three or four breaths. Moisture from condensed breath inside a mat should be dried out before long-term storage.

Are there any PFAS or flame-retardant treatments on the mat?

All Sea to Summit sleep products, including pads, sleeping bags, liners and pillows, are non-PFAS and flame-retardant free.

What's the coldest temperature the Ether Light XR is designed for?

Temperature ratings for sleeping pads are estimates based on air temperature, even though the ground temperature may be much colder. The R-Value of 4.1 is suitable down to conditions where a hard frost might occur.
