Expert Review

If you’re looking for an electric reel that is the perfect blend of reliability, grunt and affordability then the Tanacom 1000 is perfect for you. I’ve been putting my Tanacoms through their paces on all of New Zealand’s favourite deep water species and they have never missed a beat. During Game Fishing season I am even using my electrics as teaser reels in often less than ideal weather and despite the fact they are getting hammered by the elements my Tanacoms have performed flawlessly. Now I’m just waiting patiently for the next 5 knot day so I can get back out there and put them to work!

"Hi guys I have used these tanacoms for coming up 2 years now and have put them through some serious hurt, from solid Bluenose to big hapuku and even kingfish knocking 25kg which is a welcome bycatch when I’m fishing for hapuku. To be honest I have not had any problems with these reels and have only just gone for their first service! These reels are grunty as, most of the time the customers are leaving the bent butt in the rod holder and letting the tanacom do all the work! All in all they are a top notch reel to have and a must have in your deep water fishing kit! Cheers Capt Ryan
