Product Description
The Riptide is the flagship of the Nomad Design range. Featuring the exclusive Nomad Design Matrix Metal Plate, HD-ABS, Gorilla Through Wire and HD Foam systems on models throughout the range.
The floating version is perfectly balanced to achieve the dynamic, strike enducing ‘S’ shaped swimming motion. A long sweep of the rod tip makes the head duck under with a splash, then as the water flows over the lures body a seductive body roll and ‘S’ wave action is imparted sub-surface.
The sinking variety has the internal weights placed to maximise casting but also to allow the lure to be retrieved with a sub surface walk the dog action, which sees the lure able to turn nearly 180 degrees when retrieved slowly with a walk the dog “twitching” rod tip action.
The Riptide 105mm fast-sink was specially developed as a long-casting and fast-sinking lure for use when conditions are rough or you need to get down deeper in the water column. Sharing the same swimming action as the other sizes of Riptide, the 105mm is useful when targeting predatory fish like Snapper in the shallows.
The super thick stainless steel metal plate on the 155mm, 200mm and 265mm combined with the foam filled body mean no matter what you do to the Riptide, it will come back asking for more, and is up to the toughest challenge.
All Riptide lures are finished with a super tough triple layer clear coat finish, applied by hand during production, which makes the paint and finish super tough and durable. It means that when toothy fish hit the lures the paint won’t flake off in chunks, and leads to a lure that looks better for longer.
*The Riptide 265mm is supplied unrigged. We recommend using 2 x 12/0 BKK DEEP 6X hooks on the belly, rigged back to back, and a BKK DEEP 6X size 12/0 with double split rings on the tail. Alternately, a pair of 7/0 BKK GT Rex barbless trebles should be used.
